Meet Our Partners: Joel Johnson, Sy Johnson
Joel Johnson
A lifetime Tucsonan, Joel graduated
from University of Arizona and has
enjoyed a career beginning in public
accounting with Ernst & Young
and progressing through accounting,
then Controller and Chief Financial
Officer roles of large and mid-size
companies in the Tucson area. A
CPA since 2002, Joel founded
Johnson Group in 2006 and has
steadily grown its services over the
years. Joel enjoys an active life in
Tucson with his wife, Jenny, and four
thriving daughters.
Sy Johnson
One of Joel’s older brothers, Sy also
graduated from University of Arizona
and has enjoyed a career in public
accounting with KPMG and Arthur
Andersen for eight years, then
progressing into industry executive
roles as Chief Financial Officer and
further to Chief Operating Officer and
Chief Executive Officer roles in the
healthcare service industry. A CPA
since 1999, Sy joined the Johnson
Group as a partner in 2023 and is
excited about working together with
Joel, providing outstanding services
to clients. Sy and his wife, Bridget,
have five children and love nothing
more than spending time with them
and the new but growing group of
grandchildren.
